September 8: the day we remind the world about cystic fibrosis.

September 8 is World Cystic Fibrosis Day, a special date when we remember the strength and courage of our community, rejoice in what we have already achieved, and hope for a better future. Patients, their families, doctors, scientists, and everyone who helps — together we carry knowledge and faith that everything will be fine.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems. Hundreds of people with CF live in Ukraine, and each of them is a real fighter. Every day they undergo procedures, take medications, and do not give up, despite all the challenges.

Medicine has made a huge step forward in recent years. New drugs have appeared that help people with CF live longer and better. But there is still a lot of work ahead. We need more research, better treatments, and access to modern drugs for everyone who needs them.

Every story about cystic fibrosis matters. When people know about this disease, they better understand those who live with it. This helps break down stereotypes and create a more supportive world.

Let’s talk about this disease together and support each other — today and always. Together we are stronger!
