Practical aspects of cystic fibrosis treatment in adults

Physiotherapy is an ongoing challenge in all centers around the world. This is especially noticeable in young people. So, the first remark: in order for physiotherapy to be effective, it must be carried out. In adults, the disease may present as a “typical” form. Individuals who fell ill in early childhood and survived to adulthood are patients with late manifestation and atypical form of the disease.

Physiotherapy of the lungs – physiotherapy is necessary throughout life. Physiotherapy is prescribed by a doctor and consists of
series of procedures or exercises. It helps to clean the airways, which are filled with thick sputum. The course should be started as soon as the diagnosis is accurately established.

Regular physical therapy can be changed on the advice of a doctor or physiotherapist. The duration depends on the condition of the baby’s lungs. It is important that you strictly follow the instructions of your doctor or physiotherapist. If you don’t remember the exercise, ask your doctor or physiotherapist to show you it again. It is important that physical therapy becomes a daily habit for you. Physiotherapy is difficult because it requires discipline and effort. Remember, this is a treatment, so don’t skip treatments or it can become a habit.

In this case, the accumulation of sputum increases the likelihood of infection. Never be embarrassed to cough during physical therapy or throughout the day.

Sports – sports and exercise are very important. You can start only with physiotherapy. However, if you
if you have the desire and opportunity to do sports, it will help to cough and get rid of sputum. With regular classes, the body will become stronger and will be able to breathe better. Active exercises are recommended when a person moves well, waves his arms and breathes deeply. Such sports include football, volleyball, swimming, and running.
