The 48th Annual Congress of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society — ECFS 2025 — has ended.

At the meeting with representatives of patient organizations, a number of important issues were discussed:
1. Membership fees – they will be differentiated depending on the economic situation of the countries. For Ukraine, the amount of 125 euros has been preliminarily determined, however, we will continue negotiations with the ECFS leadership, since our country is in a state of war.
2. The grant for Ukraine, approved in 2024, has not yet been received. It provides for support for families with food kits, hygiene products, power plants, as well as financial assistance to those who need it most.
3. Negotiations with Vertex – key result: a guarantee of lifelong provision of patients from Ukraine with modulatory therapy, regardless of the political situation or the duration of the war.

4. Annual Ukrainian conference in November — we received confirmation of participation from representatives of the Vertex company with an appeal to our community.
5. Twinning Project — it is planned to involve doctors from all regions in a joint conference in Krakow, which is to be held in November. We are currently awaiting confirmation of funding.
6. Assistance in the form of Decas vitamins — will be provided as part of the donor initiative through our friends from Atemspende. Details and delivery dates will be announced later.
7. Information from doctors after the lectures — we discussed the importance of adapting nutrition in CF, in particular the risks of obesity, diabetes and cancer. Regarding treatment — our clinical approaches in Ukraine meet European standards, no changes are currently planned.
8. We are waiting for the updated CF Europe Treatment Protocol. We continue to work, support each other and develop the community, despite all the challenges. I sincerely thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to be, live, treat and work!
