The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Concept of the development of the medical care system

On October 11, 2021, by order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1235-r (amended to order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated April 28, 2021 No. 377), the Concept of the development of the system of providing medical care to citizens suffering from rare (orphan) diseases was approved, for 2021-2026. It is aimed at solving the main problematic issues in the system of providing medical care to patients suffering from rare diseases by implementing a plan of measures aimed at fulfilling specific tasks. One of the tasks of the concept is “Approving the list of reference centers for rare (orphan) diseases and making changes to it if necessary.” The Order of the Ministry of Health No. 864 dated May 21, 2024 (amended to the Order No. 598 of the Ministry of Health dated March 30, 2023) approved the updated List of Reference Centers for Rare (Orphan) Diseases. According to the order, three medical institutions are registered in Ukraine, which perform the functions of a reference center in the field of cystic fibrosis:

— Communal non-commercial enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council “Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center” city of Lviv, Dnisterska Street, 27

— National Children’s Specialized Hospital “OHMATDYT” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Kyiv city, V. Chornovola street, 28/1

— Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council. St. Yevhena Konovaltsia, 132, Ivano-Frankivsk.
